These are third grade students’ responses to self-selected nonfiction books they read independently. Their teacher Cate Stallmeyer-Gerard and Sunday spent a year nurturing students’ comprehension of nonfiction through interactive read-alouds and guided reading and writing lessons. The students grew as readers that year and they fell in love with nonfiction!
